Best Rabbit Dog Treats

I’ve lived with an itchy dog who needed hypoallergenic dog treats to help make her life bearable. Rabbit was one of the few proteins that she could eat without tearing her the skin of her paw pads off (yes, off) so she got rabbit dog treats often.

If your dog is itchy, I hope you have the same success with rabbit as I did. Here are a few options.

Herbsmith Smiling Dog Freeze Dried Rabbit and Duck with Broccoli and Cranberry Treats for Dogs
Love their name and the package image, those two things got my attention but the ingredient list kept it. The treats are made of exactly what you would hope: US sourced freeze-dried rabbit, duck, broccoli, cranberry. Made with no grain, fillers or artificial preservatives.

  1. My dogs are huge fans of the Zukes – both the minis (which I break in half for most dogs) and the links.

  2. Just so everyone is on the same page zukes is being taken over by Purina while zukes was a company made in Colorado and USA made Purina is not. thus it is highly likely they will change the recipe in the treats which can make your dog sick

    • Thanks for the heads up, Ashley. We all have to keep an eye on this. My hope is that Purina bought them for the strong brand and consumer loyalty and will keep the brand intact.
