Cats know their names, but still ignore the owners: research

Researchers from Japan conducted a study and found out why cats do not respond to their nicknames.

As it turned out, the tails know their nicknames perfectly, but do not want to respond to them.

It is noted that 78 cats took part in the scientific study.

For the purity of the study, academics involved not only pets, but also street ones — employees of cat cafes, which are very popular in Japan.

The behavior of the tails was recorded on video, after which the academicians analyzed it – reactions, movement of the tail, turn of the muzzle.

As a result, it was found that cats react to their nicknames, if their owner calls them, they rarely reacted to the others.

It was also noted that cats more often respond if their name is pronounced in silence, when other sounds do not interfere.
