Today, dogs are faithful friends and companions of man, guarding his home and always being there.
Once these animals were wild, just like their closest relatives – wolves.
It is generally accepted that a man tamed a dog 26,000 years ago. Researchers decided to find out which dog breeds are closest to wild predators – wolves.
The basis of the scientific work was mainly a behavioral analysis of 56 representatives of different breeds. As it turned out, the older the breed itself and the shorter the period of artificial selection, the more the dog looks like a wolf in its behavior.
Such breeds are incredibly smart, mobile and inclined to make decisions themselves, relying on instincts and personal experience. These breeds turned out to be: a German shepherd, a Labrador and a Czechoslovakian wolf dog.
