UK scientists at Exeter and Canterbury Christ Church University have dispelled the most popular myth that dogs are the smartest animals in the world.
Academics conducted a series of tests and studies, where they studied their intelligence, physical and psychological perception of a person, and came to the conclusion that there are many animals in the world that are not inferior to tetrapods in any of the criteria.
For example, goats, pigs, dolphins and seals are not inferior in perception and ability to execute human commands.
By the way, according to the results of the study, sheep, pigeons and chimpanzees also perfectly recognize a person by face, and pigs recognize by smell, and cats by sound of voice.
In addition, as it turned out, there are areas where dogs even lose to other animals.
Chimpanzees and dolphins, unlike dogs, can recognize themselves in the mirror, remember places and even the time of some events.
People think dogs are the smartest because they like it.
